CityStar is a group of investment companies created in 2003 by Jean-Louis Charon, former managing director of Nexity, the French leader in real estate development. Jean Louis Charon is a graduate engineer from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.

Currently, CityStar manages four investment funds and several stand-alone projects. It is supported by three specialized affiliates representing approximately 110 million of share- holders’ equity. SOBK SAS focuses on LBO operations for mid-size French companies. CityStar Property Investment, created in 2007, manages prop- erty investments in Europe. Finally, CityStar Private Equity Asia has been in charge of group activities in Asia since 2005 with three property investment funds in Cambodia representing around US$ 90 million of shareholders’ equity.

CityStar Private Equity Asia is managed from Singapore by Etienne Chenevier, former managing director of departments and subsidiaries of Air Liquide and Rio Tinto groups in Asia (China, Japan, Australia and Singapore) over the past seventeen years. Etienne Chenevier is a graduate engineer from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
By creating three investment funds, two for Ream and the other for property development in Phnom Penh, CityStar shows its commitments and trust in the country stability, as well as in its potential for tourism and economic development.
Cambodia’s recent emegence strong growth and infrastructure needs are all assets creating myriad of opportunities. On the Ream site, CityStar has the full ownership of more than 200 hectares of outstanding land and was granted by the Cambodian government more than 300 hectares leased over 99 years, in the exceptional locations of Koh Takiev and Koh Russey islands.
CityStar Private Equity Asia – with investment vehicles and management company based in Singapore – has established in Cambodia the companies owning the fund assets, as well as the operating companies and team overseeing its activities in the country. They are managed by Etienne Chenevier.
